Mestre Esteves da Silva and Director
of Bateria David Willetts both had workshops on Saturday 25 May.
David led the first session in Basic Brazilian Rhythms at the Brighthelm
Centre while Esteves really worked the experienced players that
attended his Advanced Samba Batucada workshop at the Komedia.
Esteves focused on Rio style samba batucada, exploring some of
the latest rhythmic innovations and breaks from Rio Carnaval 2002.
He was aided on the day by Director of Bateria Joe Hanson. Numerous
members of the Paraíso bateria were also present for this
important weekend in Samba's annual calendar. |
